WHY WEST NILE NEEDS A UNITED, FORMIDABLE, AND VIBRANT PARLIAMENTARY CAUCAS TO PUSH FOR ITS POLITICAL, SOCIAL & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

By: Anguzu Vincent There is a land in the far northwestern corner of Uganda, a land kissed by the waters of the great Nile, bordered by the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan and its land of the resilient, farmers, traders, the educated and dreamers and its called West Nile! Historically known as the lado enclave. A sub-region of extraordinary cultural richness, geographic strategic importance, and untapped economic potential. Its people are resilient, its soil is fertile, and its spirit is unbreakable. Yet for far too long, West Nile has watched from the periphery as other regions of Uganda have leaped forward economically, politically, socially and institutionally. The time has come to change this narrative. The time has come for the sons and daughters of West Nile seated in the august house/Parliament to rise as one voice, one fist, and one formidable force, Not merely for a political argument but to push for the regions development agenda. West Nile comprises of districts...

RE: COMPLAINT ON THE INHUMANE AND UNLAWFUL TREATMENT OF FAMILY MEMBERS OF A SUSPECT

TO: THE INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE (IGP) Cc: THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC PROSECUTIONS (DPP) Dear Sir/Madam, RE: COMPLAINT ON THE INHUMANE AND UNLAWFUL TREATMENT OF FAMILY MEMBERS OF A SUSPECT I write to you with deep concern and dissatisfaction regarding the conduct of officers of the Uganda Police Force in relation to a widely circulating video involving the family members of one Anguyo Moses, a prison warder alleged to have committed a grave murder crime in Kiboga District. While the suspect has reportedly been apprehended and is in lawful custody, it is both disturbing and unacceptable that his family members who are neither suspects nor accused persons are being subjected to treatment that is not only degrading but also devoid of any legal justification. The actions captured in the video clip raise several critical questions about our justice system! On what legal basis are innocent family members being paraded alongside a criminal suspect in a manner that suggests collective guilt? Wh...

WHY DO WEST NILE PEOPLE ONLY COME TOGETHER IN DEATH, YET FAIL TO EMBRACE UNITY IN LIFE? By Anguzu Vincent

It has become a painful reality in West Nile that true unity among our people often reveals itself only in moments of loss. When a son or daughter of West Nile passes on, the community gathers in large numbers, transcending political divides, religious differences, and even personal grudges. In those moments of mourning, there is solidarity, compassion, and an outpouring of love. But this begs a sobering question, Why do we only come together in death? Why must we wait for the grave before we embrace peace, togetherness, and love? Why is it so difficult for us to show that same unity when our people are alive, striving, and contributing to the growth of our region? Across West Nile, too much energy is wasted on acrimony and unnecessary petty petty rivalries. Leaders spend more time fighting one another than building bridges. Followers are often dragged into divisions, cheering on conflicts that hold the entire region back. Talented men and women are discouraged, not because they lack a...

INDEPENDENTS RISING: NRM’s POST-PRIMARY FRACTURES THREATEN 2026 PERFORMANCE

By Anguzu Vincent The National Resistance Movement (NRM) may have concluded its party primaries, but the storm is far from over. Across the country, the primaries were marred by widespread complaints, ranging from vote rigging, voter intimidation and outright manipulation of results. The legitimacy of several outcomes is being heavily contested by the aspirants who lost, with numerous petitions lodged by aggrieved aspirants who claim the process was neither free nor fair. Far from that, what is even more alarming is the toxic and acrimonious nature of the campaigns among the contesting camps, which have deeply fractured the party at the grassroots level. In many constituencies, the relationship between winners and losers is irreparably damaged, making unity behind the party flag bearers a distant dream. Those who lost are unlikely to rally behind those they believe were unfairly declared winners. Instead, a surg...

STATEMENT BY HIS EXCELLENCY YOWERI KAGUTA MUSEVENI PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF UGANDA AND CHAIRMAN OF NAM (2024-2027)

Citizens of the World, my names are: General (Rtd) Yoweri Museveni of the Resistance Movement of Uganda and President of Uganda. I am also Chairman of the NAM until 2027. The other day, I saw a Complaint by the Iranian Ambassador to Uganda as to why we have not commented on the tragic situation in the Middle East. It is true that we have not yet externalized our long-held views on that situation. Good enough, we have got good relations with both Israel and Iran, not to forget the United States of America and the other Countries of the World. In our long history of resistance, we abhor chauvinism of identity (race, tribe, religion, etc) or gender (looking down upon women). We always stand for the politics of interests interests of the stake - holders. legitimate With that outlook, we have noticed and told most of the concerned actors, the following mistake makers: (1) The first group that we have interacted with and told, are the Iranian Islamists. Whenever I visit Iran, like when His E...

THE FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES OF MUSEVENOMICS

The total economy- monetary and non –monetary had shrunk by 25% by1986 compared to1970 (collier and Reinikka, 2001). In dollars, the size of GDP in 1986 was US$ 1.26 billion and that was the NRM entry point. Certain principles or measures were applied to restore and revamp the small island of PSEUDO- MODERNITY, expand it and deepen its quality. The following were the stimuli applied (Fundamental principles of Musevenomics) 1. Security of persons and property. The NRM government had heavily invested in a disciplined UPDF army, which espoused values of human rights, people freedoms and protection of persons and their property. This played a significant role in attracting FDI net inflows from 0% of GDP in 1986 to 3.58 % in 2019. 2. Privatization and liberalization of markets. The NRM government liberalized forex bureaus, opened up all sectors of the economy to competition which created efficiency and stimulated high levels of production. 3. Return of Asian properties. The NRM government u...

MY MESSAGE TO SOCIAL MEDIA WAR MONGERS, POLITICAL WAR MONGERS, FIGHTERS AND PROPAGANDISTS IN UGANDA

TAKE A LEAVE AND LEARN FROM NAPOLEON BONAPARTE; A CELEBRATED & ALL TIME POLITICAL DEMAGOGUE. As a contemporary historian, Everytime we learn about and read about Napoleon Bonaparte, we understand that one of the core reasons as to why he lost power and ultimately lost his leadership career was his illogical, senseless, and unnecessary wars.  Reference to this is the Napoleonic wars where he fought wars like the 3rd coalition, 4th coalition, 5th coalition, the peninsula war, the French invasion of Russia famously known as the Moscow Campaign where he lost terribly and confessed by himself that _I have known the size of my feet_. He was exiled to the Mediterranean island of Elba! Very unfortunate that a man who was loved and celebrated when he came to power after overthrowing the kleptocratic monarchy of the diabolical King Louis 16th and his extravagant wife Queen Marie Antoinette.  Napoleon was loved but his desire to forcefully expand the French empire led him to total de...
