STATEMENT BY ARUA CENTRAL DIVISION MP Atima Lee Jackson ON THE CONTROVERSY BETWEEN HIM AND THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) @ALLAN KAGINA ORCHESTRATED BY THE ORA COUNTY MP SONGA LAWRENCE.

Good evening dear Bretheren.

Im sorry to send you this information which i didnt want to,  but because of the magnitude of the subject matter, and also because of the concerns of some of the members about west nile, allow me to inform you that;

This afternoon as i was making a follow up with the Executive Director of UNRA, Madam  ALLEN KAGINA about the field visit that we had resolved to carry out with all the MPS of West Nile together with her team of Engineers and the Minister for Works and Transport aftet our engagement with UNRA a month or so ago,to asses the poor state of roads in the entire Region  of west Nile .

I was dismayed when the ED of URA told me that she was called by Hon Songa Laurance, the New Caucus Chair that she should not deal with me or any other mp from west nile in as far as that field visit is concerned and that any thing to do with West Nile should be by him since he is now the Caucus chair.
I then asked the ED some few quetions which made her feel sorry and said she was going to call my boss the GCW .Hon Thomas Tayebwa to seek more clarification and guidence.
Indeed when i was in the House for plenery, my boss informed me that he will call me and Hon Songa in the Eveing ,meaning the ED called him.

Dear my brothers and sisters sincerely if we have a Caucus to bring the mps of west nile together to push with one voice, the key strategic interest of the region and use the government structures like my office of Regional whip, and the ministries like of Northern Uganda, Investment  etc etc would it really not achieve some things for the region?
What is this kind of animosity for?
I cherish unity because unity is power.
There are too many things to do for our region not only the road challenge.
I very much would wish to work with the caucus but it's very sad if the chair starts calling government agencies and MDAs of government not to work with other MPs except him the caucus chair then the region can be laughed at.
I thank you

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni today met outgoing and incoming Members of Parliament from the Lango Sub-region at State House, Entebbe, where he congratulated them on the National Resistance Movement (NRM)’s strong electoral performance in the recently concluded general elections. The President expressed gratitude to the legislators and the people of Lango and Northern Uganda at large for what he described as a landslide victory for the NRM ,the strongest performance since 1996. “I am happy to meet you and congratulate you for the good work in Lango and Northern Uganda in general,” said President Museveni who also serves as the NRM National chairman. President Museveni reflected on Uganda’s political history, citing past leaders such as Milton Obote, Edward Mutesa II, and John Kakonge, who rose to leadership at a young age but later lostinfluence He noted that divisions rooted in tribalism and religion weakened national cohesion. “The country was in their hands, but because they went...

WHY WEST NILE NEEDS A UNITED, FORMIDABLE, AND VIBRANT PARLIAMENTARY CAUCAS TO PUSH FOR ITS POLITICAL, SOCIAL & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

By: Anguzu Vincent There is a land in the far northwestern corner of Uganda, a land kissed by the waters of the great Nile, bordered by the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan and its land of the resilient, farmers, traders, the educated and dreamers and its called West Nile! Historically known as the lado enclave. A sub-region of extraordinary cultural richness, geographic strategic importance, and untapped economic potential. Its people are resilient, its soil is fertile, and its spirit is unbreakable. Yet for far too long, West Nile has watched from the periphery as other regions of Uganda have leaped forward economically, politically, socially and institutionally. The time has come to change this narrative. The time has come for the sons and daughters of West Nile seated in the august house/Parliament to rise as one voice, one fist, and one formidable force, Not merely for a political argument but to push for the regions development agenda. West Nile comprises of districts...
